“I have a feeling of possibility – of greater possibility.”

“Questioning, eye-opening, arrived skeptical but left feeling satisfied.”

“I especially liked the play on distance, perspective, and angles.”

“It was very engaging! I loved that you could feel the group working together, and yet everyone’s personality emerged (both dancers and musicians).” I also liked how the spatial reaction dancers / musicians evolved.”

“Transported . . . beautiful, thoughtful interlude . . . !”

“Please do more! It was fantastic.”

“I feel more eased, but if I’m totally honest, wish it were longer . . . It was beautiful, thank you!”

Inspired by the air we breathe and the spaces we live in, Garden Unlocked is a curious combination of site dance, semi-aleatoric music, structured improvisation, and cross-disciplinary experiment. Click here for a review by David Mead from SeeingDance.

Biographies (that are short and not so typical)

yanaelle
Yanaëlle Thiran (choreographer & dancer) always manages to smuggle in some snacks for our breaks. More here.
Owen Ho (composer) hates writing bios because every time it’s going to be different. But here’s an attempt.
When not performing, Miles Chai (dancer) can be found wandering through forests pondering the meaning of his bio.
Francesca Matthys (dancer) enjoys talking to her pot plants when she was a kid (and they 100% spoke back).
June Lee (violin) is sick of taking headshots but took one anyway. It seems she doesn’t need a website.
Kosuke Shirai (clarinet) likes playing the clarinet. That is life for him.
When not slaving over the Bartók Viola Concerto, Josh Law (viola) can often be found stuck in the past with his typewriter & vinyl.
Sarah Ovenden (flute) doesn’t have a website as she’s too busy playing the flute to her cat, Sawdust.
